Dear Lockyer Branch members, A short 9 days ago I advised that Kevin 'Hutchy" Hutchison was admitted to the PA. Well, I've been advised by his wife Sandra that he "passed away early on Sunday morning and he is at Peace in the Lord's beautiful kingdom". RIP Hutchy and may you get to ride as you so desperately wished to do. Born: 8th April 1953 Died 26th April 2020. Became a Ulyssian: 28th October 2018 UC#68423 Regards Foggy

BREAKING: Following encouraging signs of flattening the curve, some restrictions will be eased in Queensland from next weekend. Social distancing still applies, but we??re giving the green light for some recreational activities and extending the distance you can travel from home. ?From Saturday, May 2, you can:? - Go for a drive (within 50km of home) - Ride a motorbike, jetski or boat for recreation - Have a picnic - Visit a national park - Shop for non-essential items Outings are limited to members of the same household or an individual and one friend. All rules regarding social gatherings and limits on visitors remain in place. We will closely watch the numbers of new infections and review the measures after two weeks.

Good evening valued supporter, Further to our previous correspondence, our Committee is pleased to be able to offer an 'online' ANZAC ceremony for you to participate in, on ANZAC Day coming. We are streaming our service on Youtube, and the details are listed below. We would be honoured if you were able to do two things? Tune in, and participate, and also disseminate the information to your members, or students, neighbours and friends. The link listed below is the link to find the ANZAC Service on Youtube. It will go live at 0415hrs on the 25th. People can then tune in at the usual Dawn Service time, or anytime there after. Our committee feels most honoured to have been able to provide this Service for 2020, and we thank you for your support! We do hope you can tune in and be a part of this years Bundamba ANZAC Day Ceremony, albeit, much different this year. https://youtu.be/NPEiDXiNW-I

Some of you may have heard of the recent incident involving a motorcyclist and truck on Kings Parade Ipswich, the following is taken from the Lockyer Branch Facebook page, I have sent the best wishes of our Branch to Mel via Foggy. For the member's information: Some concerning news about one of our members. 'Mad' Mel had a collision today with a truck allegedly performing a 'U' turn in front of her. She and her bike collided with the rear bogie of the truck. She has internal injuries, head injuries, a broken collarbone and some other more minor injuries. She is in the PA hospital recovering from emergency surgery tonight. I have asked to be kept informed of her progress as visitor numbers are very limited.

Hi Everyone, Can I please ask if you can advise your members that the Redlands Branch Xmas In July 2020 held at Tenterfield event has been cancelled. We are unable to contact those who have been before as they come from far & wide. We do know that some from last year said they would be coming this year. So if you can assist by letting your membership know the following, we should hit all those members who have already booked their accomodation for this year. Many thanks Roxy Pres - Redlands Branch Due to the current Corona Virus restrictions, Redland Branch - Ulysses has decided to cancel the 2020 Christmas in July at Tenterfield Bowling Club. We have asked that all accommodation at the attached motel be cancelled as well. The bowls club understands our decision and expressed hope that they see us again. It might be an idea to ring any accommodation that is booked and cancel your room. As we don't have a crystal ball to see into the future, we don't know when travel restrictions will be lifted

Please take care and look after yourselves and each other. Chopper.

Hey Guys, as yet there is no decision about our AGM in April, the committee are meeting on Monday to decide whether we proceed with the AGM or not, obviously our concerns are with the health of our members. The ANZAC Day event has been cancelled already but other rides are still undecided. I will keep you informed of the committee decision and if you have any concerns please call me. Chopper

Dear Members Cancellation of the 2020 National Rally These past few days the National Committee has been working through the process of cancellation of the Rally and the impacts. This included meeting with the National Rally executive team and committee, Lismore Council representatives and Lismore stakeholders. Logistical, administrative, and legal considerations are part of the decision to cancel our event. Blue Knowles as Ulysses Club Rally Liaison worked through those meetings in Lismore on behalf of the National Committee and we thank him for that. The recommendation by the Federal Government that states consider restricting gatherings of 500 people was obviously a factor. The 2020 National Rally team has worked so hard in their preparation to bring you another wonderful National Rally and the National Committee is disappointed that we must cancel. The health and safety of our members and their families is the most important consideration. We??ll be in touch with you again soon, regarding the Annual General Meeting, commemorative merchandise, refunds and any other rally related information.

Hi All, I will be leading a charity ride to Bolton Clarke Aged Care on the 21st March 2020. My daughter is a diversional Therapist there but on maternal leave atm. This is a ride we have done for the past three years and are continuing again this year. We will be leaving the Ipswich Sports Club 1a Samford Rd. Leichhardt at 9am. Working our way over to Raceveiw and down the highway to Camira where we will turn off and make our way down Johnson Road to Browns Plains to meet up with the Mt Lindesay Branch who are joining us. From there meeting place it is only a short 10 minute run to the Aged Care venue. Eric has a flyer to be put on the webpage. I hope we get a few riders on the day as the residents absolutely love seeing the bikes and chatting to us of our adventures Cheers Ado
