Ipswich Branch Blog Post New Entry

Branch Shirts

Posted by Ado on October 19, 2019 at 5:30 PM
I was at a function last night when the subject of changing our shirts to black was raised. Can I implore the current committee to seek the opinion of the rest of the branch because from what I am hearing it is not a popular decision. Myself, I am afraid that tradition seems to have become a dirty word in the branch and I feel it is a shame that the branch is leaving the colours of Ipswich City. The Ipswich shirt colours have easily been identified by every other Ulysses Branch in Australia and have been a subject of discussion at every AGM since our inception. Could the committee please confirm if this is gossip or not, as this seems to be hot topic of conversation

Peter (Chopper) says...
I was at the same function and no one said anything to me about Branch shirts, we are not changing the colour of the Branch Shirt, for multi branch events and National Rally's the Purple shirt will always be the Ipswich Branch colours, however normal Branch rides and social events the Black shirt is offered as an alternative not a compulsory item, in fact I believe for Branch rides we can wear whatever shirt we choose to wear.
I would ask members that if they are not sure of something that they ask a committee member who will tell them what they need to know.
I also ask Branch Members to remember that Adrian decided to step away from the committee to pursue life outside of the Branch after many years of service to the Club and our Branch and we should respect his wishes and not involve him in Branch matters

That's good news as I am hoping to attend this next meeting (at long last) in my club shirt, see you all there lol.
